Copilot annoyance

Today I turned on a laptop computer with Windows 10 Home, which I had not used for a long time. Of course it had to install quite a few Windows Updates, so I let it do this and came back later to restart it (rinse and repeat). After the second restart it showed a login prompt for “Microsoft Office 365 Copilot”. The first time I just closed the window and continued updating. After the next reboot the login prompt came again, which began to annoy me. There was no “go away and don’t bother me again” option. So I looked into the start menu for something regarding “Copilot” and found that somehow Microsoft had installed a “Copilot App”, without asking. I don’t have Office 365 (or any MS Office at all) installed on this computer nor do I have a Microsoft account. And I certainly don’t want any spying “Artificial Intelligence” on it. So WTF is Microsoft doing there? I uninstalled the “Copilot App” and the prompt was gone, finally. But I’m sure it will be back eventually. Time to switch that laptop to Linux…
